RUPOSHI BANGLA • DHAKA

A defining chapter in Dhaka hospitality.

The Ruposhi Bangla name belongs to a historic chapter of one of Dhaka’s best-known international-standard hotel properties.

About the name Ruposhi Bangla

Bangladesh Services Limited, the government-majority-owned hospitality company, operated the hotel as Ruposhi Bangla from May 2011 until the property closed for renovation in September 2014. Before that period, it had been known as Dhaka Sheraton and, earlier, Inter-Continental.

Following renovation and rebranding, the property became InterContinental Dhaka and resumed commercial operations in December 2018. The Ruposhi Bangla name therefore refers to a historical phase, rather than a separate hotel currently taking room bookings.

The purpose of this website is to offer a clear and attractive guide to the name’s background, not to represent the current hotel management.
